Cousin Jeff got married this weekend... its weird because it made me realize just how old we are all getting. Having all our parents talk about who's the next one to marry is was a scary thought...anyways, aside from me freaking out about how old i'm getting.. the wedding was fun. family showed up on wednesday night.. ever since they came up, we've eating every single meal outside the home. yay for greasy chinese food! took them to the lantern fest/cne on friday night. saturday was the wedding, i semi-freaked out cause i had to read but it turned out being alright. the reception/dinner took mad long and i was almost about to pass out by the end of the night. all the cousins were semi-forced to dance while the parents sang the newlyweds a song.. how on earth do you dance to an old school chinese opera-ish song?!!? anyways, that was sorta embarassing... sunday night was potluck at my uncles place where we had yip's family reunion pt.2. no matching shirts this time......

i've stopped working at the zoo since last saturday and decided that i was gonna chill out and enjoy the rest of my summer. working 6, sometimes 7 days a week kinda killed me, and i wanted to relax and have a little fun before school starts.. i feel bad for leaving, just cause i was in charge and now i left the stupid newbies running the place.. but oh wells.

a sub, a sub a sub a sub. a 6 or 12 inch sub..

- Work has been great. I pretty much work for 2 hours, have a 3 hour "break" and then work again for another 2 hours, and then its home time. We've been having singing competitions over the harvey's microphones. I've also created my own version of an ice cap... tastes pretty much the same as the timmy's one, just that its less icy. I hate getting up for work every morning, but time passes so fast when you're having so much fun! haha.

- Another cousin of mine just got engaged... and i'm pretty sure she's getting married because she's pregnant. anyways, she's engaged to a hollywood producer who has worked on "Remember the Titans" and "Monster in Law". all i could think about was oh man... he's met ryan gosling... he should invite him to the wedding so he can be MY date. haha.

- i'm planning a birthday bbq sometime around my birthday, and i realize that my bday is in a week and i have still yet to pick a date. i'll let u guys know when i figure it out. haha.

- speaking of my birthday, i just realized that it means august is coming around and that school is in a MONTH. oh god. help.

lifestyles of the rich and the famous.

well i'm back living the expensive canadian life. expenses in Shanghai/HK are half/less than half of canadian goods. there are no taxes, and many places no tips are needed. so that's already 25% that i dont need to spend. For 1.50, i could buy a mcchicken meal... sooo cheap. and i loooove mcchicken. man, for that price id have it everyday! haha.. well, maybe not..

i wanted to blog while i was in shanghai, i think china restricts internet sites. there were many that i couldn't get to, and blogger was one of them. they even blocked yahoo canada!!! and all the search sites somehow diverted them all the chinese sites. soo ridiculous.

the people in shanghai tend to eat lots of weird/internal organ types of food.... one night my uncle ordered: pig ears, liver, and frogs and duck kidney. blech. hence the reason why i kept eating mcchicken for 1.50. i did enjoy the appetizers though... mostly made of fried tofu. mm. i love tofu.

snowboarding indoors was... not as enjoyable as i thought it would be. first off, i ended up boarding alone. my dad had promised that he was going to go with me, then bailed the very last minute. before i went, i already had this massive headache, but since we were there already, i figured this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. they provided me with a jacket, snowpants and gloves.. i only put on the snowpants cause everything else looked a little gross. there were only 10 people in the whole resort, and no english signs anywhere... i couldnt figure out how to use the ski lift, AND they had no lift attendants. out of the 10 people, none spoke english, and only 1 guy took the lift up. so i watched, as he straddled the pole that dangled down the ceiling.. and because i was boarding, i couldnt straddle the pole since my feet are placed apart. i pretty much gave up and just walked up the hill. after an hour, i had enough.

i dont think i would ever have the guts to drive in shanghai. its MAD i tell you. i was never in a car ride where the car horn didnt go off. cars cut in and out. i saw 3 accidents within one day. pedestrians are constantly being honked at. the side mirrors of each are pretty much touching one another.

after this trip, i really want to pick up some mandarin, cause i felt useless not being able to communicate the whole time and always having to ask my mom what people were saying.. especially when the people at the massage parlour and hair salon was asking me things......i guess i should also fix up my cantonese first. lol

that pretty much sums up shanghai. its really hot in my room and im tired of typing...

So the plane ride from hell wasn't too bad, although I couldn't sleep. but the movies kept me busy. ended up watching match point twice. lol. plus the hot male steward (sp??) was nice to look at... he was pretty. haha.

It's so crazy hot here that i end up taking at least 3 showers a day. soo gross. and when you go to places where its packed it smells disgusting and you tend to stick to others because of the sweatiness. yuck. i wish i had a perma air conditioned outfit.

Grandma's condition is getting worse. constantly repeats sentences over and over again, doesn't remember anything at all, has no patience, paces around the house, and tends to talk to herself all the time. as a matter of fact, i was trying to take a nap just now, but she kept on mumbling about randomness and so i decided to put in my headphones, drowning out her voice (thanks to kanye...) and blog instead.

I was gonna post a video, but i just realized i forgot to bring my card reader from the hotel so i can't. boo. hopefully i'll remember the next time i come to my aunts again.

Maybe I shall try to take a nap now. i think my grandma finally stopped talking. sweeeet.

HK/Shanghai in 10 hours. As always, i will be dreading the craptacular plane ride from hell. 16 hours. 16 hours stuck in a plane. i will become the sudoku champ by the end of this trip.

This semester was probably the toughest semester i've ever had. And this school always seems to give me this shittest exam schedule, having me write 5 exams in the span of 6 days, plus 2 in one day. one mark back so far - pretty decent considering i failed the midterm.

i've been having weird dreams lately.. all relatively the same theme, involving the same people. anyone know of any dream interpreters?

OTH finale was tonight. it was alright. i just hope it wasn't the series finale.

well its been a while since a real actual update, been busy i guess.. and not really feeling the need to write/type. but i guess ill just write a quick overview of whats been up since my last real post.

actually, i dont even remember when my last post was, sometime before reading week i think. anyways, reading week was.. well, me and amanda had a few reading parties at my house. nerds r us, i know, but it needed to be done. boarding, klong thong restaurant, cranium would probably sum up my reading week.

st. patty's turned out to be. well.... let's just say we were out by 5pm, and home by 11pm. but it was fun. oh moo, that girl was craaaaaaazy. haha.

i hate doing group work. absolutely hate it. i want out of my group, but its way too late now. sigh... note to self, never involve myself with crazy group members ever again. thank goodness school is winding down.. 10 more days of school, 2 weeks off til exams start, then 1 week of exams and ill be freeeeeeeee. FREE!!!! 5 days after my last exam, then off to china i go.

i've been snowboarding the past 3 weekends in a row. addicted, YES. so addicted that i'm going to check out the indoor ski resort in shanghai when i go in may!!
